Ryan Clifford

Ryan currently teaches in the new Master of Arts in Social Design (MASD) and undergraduate Graphic Design program at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), is Faculty Director of the Design Coalition, and is associate director of the Center for Design Practice at MICA. He also teaches in the institution's Pre-College summer program. He is an advisor to Project M, an international social design initiative committed to helping young designers use their skills to create positive change in the world. Previously, he was an instructor in the undergraduate Graphic Design Department at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Ryan has worked professionally in corporate design and advertising, and was a creative designer at General Motors in Detroit, Michigan where he was responsible for branding implementation, identity design, and environmental graphics. He has also worked for Buck and Pulleyn, and interned for Saatchi & Saatchi, where clients included Kodak and DuPont.

His work has been recognized by the National Paperbox Association and the Rochester Advertising Foundation, and in the following publications: How International Design Annual and Print Regional Design Annual. His work has also been featured in the book Indie Publishing from Princeton Architectural Press.
