Frank Lucas

Frank Lucas has thirty plus years of diverse architectural experience. He has been responsible for the design of diverse projects including educational, commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. These projects vary in size from large institutional planning and buildings to intimate details. Many of these projects are either renovations or historic restorations. For his work at the Reston Town Center, he was awarded a National Urban Design Award of Excellence, the highest award from the American Institute of Architects. He has also won design awards from the Baltimore Chapter/AIA and the Maryland Society of Architects.

He has taught at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Boston Architectural Center and been a guest critic at the University of Virginia and the University of Maryland. In addition, Frank has served on the Boards of Directors of the Baltimore AIA, the Foundation for Architecture, the Neighborhood Design Center. In 1999 he was President of AIA Baltimore.

He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Virginia, School of Architecture. In the past, Mr. Lucas has been affiliated with excellent design firms such as Graham Gund Architects, RTKL Inc. and Ayers/Saint/Gross. In 1997 he established Lucas Associates Architects PC. in Baltimore.
